Marine Heatwaves – Ocean Extremes RP monthly meetings
Meetings are held monthly depending on speaker availability. Subscribe to the Ocean Extremes RP mailing list to be kept up to date.
Format: 1 hour meeting featuring one ~20min science talk followed by questions and discussion. The last 10 mins of each meeting is dedicated to news, papers and/or any matter participants want to share with the community.

Weather and Climate Interactions (WACI) RP monthly meetings
WACI meetings are held twice monthly depending on speaker availability. Meeting invites are sent out as meetings are organised – sign up to the WACI RP mailing list to get notified.
Presentations will feature work in progress with a focus on discussion and feedback and, on occasion, external speakers to share their research. CLEX CMS MEETINGS
CMS Code Break meetings – 2pm, every Wednesday.
Come and ask us about some specific code you are writing, about a training you are trying to understand or broader questions about programming or scientific modelling. When appropriate, CMS will take a few minutes at the beginning of a session to present useful new software or language features, interesting blogs or highlight new developments in modelling. Data assimilation forum & seminar (online)
Announcing a new monthly 1hr virtual meeting focused on data assimilation research in and around Australia. The aim of the meetings is to share ideas, foster collaboration and to strengthen the local data assimilation community between universities, government and industry. We hope to run the meetings for the rest of the year and potentially onwards. Email neizenberg@student.unimelb.edu.au to be put on the mailing list.

Regular chart discussions
Chart discussions are led by Dr. Harvey Stern (Ex-BoM) and held at 1 pm every Friday, in Lab 1, Level 2, McCoy Building, at the University of Melbourne. Harvey provides a 15-20 minute summary of recent Australian forecasts and observations, followed by 10-15 minutes of casual discussion time (which can happily run longer for those with the time!) If you’d like to present something interesting weather/climate related (e.g. a cool website or image, or an interesting weather chart from around the world) during discussion time, contact Ewan Short (shorte1@student.unimelb.edu.au) or Andrew Brown (andrewb1@student.unimelb.edu.au).
