A block of rooms are available at the Mantra Lorne at discounted rates.

Heritage Rooms: $AUD215 per night

Resort rooms:     $AUD245 per night

The rooms include breakfast and can be booked at the special rate by emailing lorne.groups@mantra.com.au

If you prefer to book online (at the regular price), please include CLIVAR workshop in the notes so that the venue will know you are part of the workshop.

Transport to the venue

Meeting attendees are advised to fly into Melbourne International Airport. The conference venue may be reached by making use of the free conference bus.

Complimentary Conference bus
To the conference:

The bus to Lorne will depart from near Flinders St. Station in the Melbourne CBD (see below) at 3:00pm and Melbourne International Airport at 4pm on Sunday the 23rd of February 2024

Returning to Melbourne:

The bus to Melbourne International Airport and Flinders st. Station in the  Melbourne CBD will depart Lorne at the conclusion of the conference. The conference buses will arrive at Melbourne International Airport at roughly 6:00pm on Thursday the 27th of February 2024 and continue to the CBD shortly thereafter.

Pick-up/drop-off locations

Melbourne CBD

Buses to/from the CBD will depart from and arrive at the drop-off point on the Russell st. extension opposite Flinders St. station (see the map below).

Melbourne Airport

Buses to/from the Airport will depart from and arrive at the Groups and Charters Zone, Lane 2, outside the International terminal (T2; see the map below).

Public transport

Alternatively, Lorne is also accessible by public transport through the V/line bus and train service.

There are only around four services to Lorne on Sunday, so please plan ahead to ensure you do not get stranded!

From the airport, take the Skybus ($19AUD) to Southern Cross railway station.

Services to Lorne via Geelong depart from Southern Cross railway station. Tickets may be purchased online or at the station ($22AUD).
