Below is the list containing names of everyone who indicated an intention to bring a poster at some stage during the registration process. The list has had some small changes since the last draft was circulated so re-check your assigned day. It also notes those who submitted a slide for a lightning lecture.
POSTERS
1: If your name appears but you are no longer bringing a poster or you don’t remember ticking a box that said you’d bring one, don’t worry! No action required.
2: If you are bringing a poster, you’ll see that you have been assigned a poster board number and a day to stand by your poster to defend it. Posters will be up for the full three days. By assigning a day, your peers will know when they can find you to discuss your work.
3: You will hang your own poster. The poster hall (Merlot Room) will be accessible Monday afternoon 3 – 5pm and from Tuesday morning onwards. In the poster hall you’ll find printed copies of the attached list and an ample supply of sticky velcro dots to attach your poster to your allocated board. This information will also be on the workshop webpage on the CLEX intranet
4: Students should also take one of the provided colour dots and place it on the bottom left corner of your poster. This will help identify student posters for the poster awards.
5: Keep your poster tubes somewhere safe – e.g. back in your room. You will be responsible for removing your poster on the final day and taking it home with you.
6: If you wish to bring a poster but your name doesn’t appear on the list, bring it along and we will try to find an empty board for you.
LIGHTNING LECTURES
1: Those who have submitted a lightning lecture slide are noted on the attached list.
2: Your lightning lecture day corresponds to your allocated poster defence day. Refer to the agenda for the exact time of lightning lecture sessions.
3: You have a maximum of 60 seconds to introduce your work and encourage people to visit your poster. Creativity is encouraged!
4: For each day’s lightning lecture session, slides will be pre-loaded on the presentation laptop in a single slide deck in alphabetical order by given name.
5: Please start to line up near the front of the room before the start of the lightning lecture session and be ready to take to the podium for your 60 seconds of fame. Members of the operations team will be on hand to help organise the people in the line into the same order as the slides.
Please ensure you collect your posters by 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 7th. Poster boards will be dismantled in the afternoon, and any posters not collected by then will be disposed of.
